Trivelig is a word I have struggled to translate idiomatically from Norwegian. I'd probably translate it as an unremarkable, but fulfillingly pleasant activity or thing. A park could be trivelig. Winning the lottery would be trivelig only for the most restrained of Norwegians. Reading the Sunday newspaper might be trivelig. A walk can be trivelig. A neighbour might be trivelig if you enjoy a chat with him - irrespective of how outgoing or pleasant he is. I think it's connected to the Swedish concept of [lagom](http://www.reddit.com/r/DoesNotTranslate/comments/2nsxw9/swedish_lagom_not_too_much_or_too_little_right_in/) (which I was surprised to have seen submitted only 21 hours ago!) - pleasantness through moderation, because nothing ostentatious could be trivelig.
