GermanStrohwitwerLiterally straw widow. Noun: A husband who's home alone while his wife is out of town.

Here's the wiktionary link to start out with: https://de.wiktionary.org/wiki/Strohwitwer The closest English has to offer is "this week I'm on my own" or "this week I've got the run of the place," but it doesn't distinguish who's out of town. In German you could say "this week I'm a Strohwitwer" and everybody would know your wife/girlfriend is out of town for the week and you have the freedom to do what you want. This works for women as well, whose husbands are out of town. They would be a Strohwitwe.
