lit. "to become whole" Nowadays often used in the context of love/relationships, eg 成全了别人的爱情 - "sacrificed yourself for someone else's love," like if 2 guys like the same girl and one dude lets the other "have" her. Can also be used when describing group efforts to help a single person, like "the entire town worked to help the father send his son to college."
